- By the end of this course you will be able to understand the role of computers in business and the home, identify the moral and ethical issues related to the use of personal computers, recognize the basic structure of and navigate around Microsoft Office 2010 software applications and develop knowledge and skills of computer applications through guided hands-on video tutorial sessions and assigned activities.

What is the course about?
By the end of this course you will be able to successfully start Microsoft Office 2010 applications using a variety of methods, explore windows and identify various features in the window, navigate around software applications, use the ribbons, navigate the various menus associated with each ribbon, create documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations, insert text in documents using various methods, save documents using the save and save-as commands, and close a document and properly exit a software application program.

This course includes step-by-step video tutorials, supplemental documents, hands-on activities, and assessments.
How long will the course take to complete?
The course is designed for 12 weeks, however some learners may take longer to complete the various lessons.
How is the course structured?
The course includes twenty-four sections, along with assessments, weekly video tutorials, and activities.

Dr. Harold L. Fisher
Professor/Author
Dr. Harold L. Fisher has been a professor at College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas for the last eleven years, and has been teaching for multiple universities online for the last nineteen years. Prior to becoming a professor, he taught in public school education for a total of eight years.
He received his doctorate degree in teacher leadership from Walden University, a master’s degree in education from American Intercontinental University in instructional technology, a master’s degree in education from Our Lady of the Lake University with dual majors in curriculum and instruction and master technology teaching, and he holds a third master’s degree in organizational leadership from Baptist Bible College. He finished his Bachelors of Science degree in biblical studies from College of Biblical Studies, and has a Texas teacher certification in Business Education from Texas State University.
He was the recipient of the 2009 Teacher of the Year award in Spring I.S.D. and the 2009 Teacher of the year for the Spring I.S.D. Virtual High School, featured as the 2009 Teacher of the Month (June) by KPRC Channel 2 Houston, and in 2009 he was recognized by Harris County Region 4 as Teacher of the Year. He was recently nominated by his peers to receive an award to the Delta Epsilon Chi Honor Society for Biblical Higher Education for his intellectual achievement, Christian character, and leadership ability.
He is the author of four books, “Virtual Schooling through the eyes of Teachers,” “Attitudes and Perspectives About Teaching of Teachers Who Provide Online Instruction at the Secondary Level,” “A Technology Workbook for Christian Learners” and "Microsoft Office 2010 Made Easy." He is currently working on multiple online courses, articles and book projects.
He has been married to his beautiful wife, Kym for twenty-six years. They have three kids, Brittani, Nicholas, and Sydnee.
Dr. Fisher’s favorite activities are golf, research, and spending vacation time with his wife and kids.
