Description
BIM is said to be one of the most exciting and disruptive processes and technologies in the industry today! By the time you finish this course you will have a much better understanding of how to manage BIM and BIM deliverables. We teach you to recognize the importance of BIM, define common BIM terms, and using BIM as a a collaboration tool. We will discuss benefits and go into detail about collaborative models. We will discuss what successful BIM looks like and discuss how you can assess your project or company BIM needs. We discuss common tools and applications and how to select and manage these tools. All this and more in BIM Management -Process Planning Implementation Part 1. As part of this course I am offering Office Hours where registered students can ask me questions relating to the material. As a consultant I usually charge 75 dollars per hour but this service comes free with the course. Office hours will be limited and will be set by the instructor. Please contact me for details.
Part 2 is a seperate course that goes even further into detail on topics covered in this course. It will be released shortly as its own course. It covers detailed spefics on BIM contract negotiations, subcontractor BIM negotiations and more Supplemental material from Part 1 on Project and company level BIM.

I have 12 years of experience working in the AEC industry. I started out managing properties at the age of 15 and graduated with a degree in construction management from Brigham Young University. I have worked as a field engineer and construction engineer and extensively as a BIM engineer and BIM manager for the top ranked BIM use General Contractor in the United States. I have implemented BIM in over 1 Billion dollars in work involving VDC services. I have Extensive BIM management in business development, preconstruction design validation,preconstruction coordination, construction coordination, design assistance and model based estimating and model based scheduling. I have International experience partnering with Vico/Trimble as onsite project manager (OPM). I have also consulted universities and large cities on BIM implementation within their building and development departments.
I have taught a free introductory BIM class to over 100 small business contractors.

Some very useful and interesting parts, which were generally well elaborated. However the presentation slides are very simple, lacking information. The presentation also says that slides are available to download, but I could never find them.

No examples of work on projects, no real information that can be used, no substance. Poor slides and a lot of rambling, saying in 20 mins what you can say in less than 5. But you are clearly an experienced guy with a lot of knowledge, just needed to be a much shorter, better structured and more insightful presentation.
